The duo that walked 870 miles
In the Welsh language, ‘Cerdd’ means music and ‘Cerdded’ means to walk. To Filkin’s Drift, this suggests an intrinsic connection between the acts of roaming and creating music. Along the way, the duo will collect songs, stories, and tunes to incorporate into their gigs, weaving together a tapestry of shared experiences of the Welsh coast.
CERDD // ED solves a global problem in a local way. It will be a pioneering voice as the music industry changes its approaches to touring; It will bring communities closer together; and it will bring Wales to the fore, as the country pioneering this change.
We are supported by Help Musicians and Fusion Gig Bags, and are raising money for the charity Live Music Now.

Live Music Now is a charity that has been crucial to our development as musicians and people. We want to raise money for this charity to continue their amazing work connecting people, and nurturing socially-engaged musicians.
Their musicians connect with people experiencing social exclusion or disadvantage, working together to create engaging, interactive, evidence-based live music sessions that meaningfully enhance health and well-being, improve communication, strengthen relationships and deliver positive effects long after the last note has been played.
We hope that our walking tour of the Welsh coast will have a similar effect as we bring live music to rural areas that don’t often get visiting musicians, and connect with communities along the way.
